• By entering into a costume hire agreement, customers are fully accepting the terms and conditions of hire.

• The hire period begins on collection from Dereham Theatre Costumes & no refunds will be given after this time. If there is a problem, we must be notified within 24 hours & can arrange an exchange if deemed appropriate.

• Full payment of the final invoice is expected by the dispatch or collection date, unless otherwise arranged.

• Both the hirer and the organization they are representing, are fully responsible for the costumes while in their possession and during transit.

• All costumes remain the property of Dereham Theatre Costumes while on loan.

• A complete costume includes accessories deemed relevant to the character, in the judgment of Dereham Theatre Costumes. Footwear or additional accessories are not included and will incur additional charges.

• We accept no responsibility for injury, death or damage to a third party or the wearer of one of our costumes or accessories.

• Eating, drinking (except water) and smoking are prohibited while wearing our costumes. Damage caused to the costumes through misuse or personal hygiene will be charged fully to the customer.

• Alterations to costumes must be hand sewn only and removed before return of costume.

• Any damage incurred due to alteration, adaptation or cutting of costumes or accessories will be charged for cost of repair or replacement (including labour cost). Where the item is part of a set, you may be charged for replacement of the set.

• Any items lost by the customer will be charged at the rate of replacement (including labour & materials) for one or a complete set where necessary.

• Do not write on the costumes or accessories. Use hangers or pins for labeling.

• Keep costumes away from fire.

• Your booking will be confirmed on receipt of the relevant deposits. Once received we can begin working on your show.

• All deposits are deducted from the final invoice and are non-refundable.

• Full payment of the final invoice is expected by the dispatch or collection date, unless otherwise arranged.

• Cancellation of any costumes in full or part must be made at least 3 weeks prior to date of collection, or you will be charged fully. Any completed costumes outside of the 21 day period may still incur charges.

• Cancellation at any time after agreement of newly commissioned costumes will still be charged fully.

• You will be charged for all the costumes that have been hired, regardless of whether you choose to use them.

• Costume hire prices cover a maximum of 14 days hire. For extended periods, half the original price is charged per additional week/part week. This must be arranged prior to collection.

• Completed measurement forms should be received at least 6 weeks prior to the dress rehearsal, otherwise completion of costumes cannot be guaranteed.

• Please use the checklist provided to ensure all items received are returned.

• We take care to package and deliver costumes in good condition and expect them to be re-packed with the same consideration.

• All costumes supplied named on hangers or in boxes, with plastic, should be returned in the same fashion.

• Please pack footwear on the bottom and hats on the top of boxes to prevent
crushing. Dirty footwear should be separated from clothing.

• Ensure consignments are well secured. Items missing from unsecure boxes will be charged to the customer.

• £50.00 deposit is required for Fed-Ex delivery and this should be included with the costume deposit. Any remaining funds will be returned via cheque after our costumes have been returned.

• Any remainder of carriage payment will be invoiced after the return of the costumes.

• Late costume returns are subject to be charged the full cost of materials & labour up to a maximum of £500.00.

• We are responsible for cleaning and checking garments on return. Any marks not removed by laundering or damage beyond acceptable wear and tear will be charged to the customer, including full cost of material & labour up to a maximum of £500.00.

• Late payment is considered to be 14 days after the invoice date, after which a non-negotiable late payment charge of £50.00 will incur.

• Credit to Dereham Theatre Costumes as ‘Costumier’ or ‘Costumes supplied by Dereham Theatre Costumes’ must be given on all production literature.

• Permission to use photographs of the production for our archive or advertising purposes is agreed at time or hire.
